The Cure’s summary

Ibn al-Qayyim calls supplication one of the strongest means of repelling harm and obtaining what is sought, and explains why its effect is sometimes held back: the supplication itself may be weak, the heart may be heedless, or something may block the answer (A009-1, A026-2). Among the obstacles he names is hastiness — giving up because the answer seems slow (A015-1). He also argues that the divine decree does not make supplication pointless, since supplication is itself among the means Allah has decreed (A029-2).

Written for The Cure and checked against the Arabic — not Ibn al-Qayyim’s words. Each claim rests on A009-1, A026-2, A015-1, A029-2.
