وبذلك وقع أهل الإفك في الطيّة المطيّة حبيبةٍ رسول الله كي المبرّأةٍ من فوق سبع سماوات»؛ بشبهة مجيء صفوان بن المعطّل بها وحده خلف العسكر؛ حتى هلك من هلك. ولولا أنْ تولى اللَهُ سبحانه براءتها والذبعنها وتكذيبٌ قاذفها» وإلاً كان أمرًا آخر.

والمقصود أنّ في إظهار المبتّى عشق من لا يجلّ له الاتصالٌ به من ظلمه وأذاه ما هو عدوان عليه وعلى أهله » وتعريض لتصديق كثير من الناس ظنونهم فيه.
