فهذا ميزان عادل يوزن به موافقة الرب ومخالفته» وموالاته ومعاداته. فإذا رأينا شخصًا يحب ما يكرهه الرب تعالى» ويكره ما يحبّه؛ علمنا أن فيه من معاداته بحسب ذلك. وإذا رأينا الشخص يحبٌ ما يحبه الرب» ويكره ما يكرهه» وكلّما كان الشىء أحبّ إلى الربّ كان أحبٌّ إليه وآثر عنده» وكلما كان أبغض إلى الرب كان أبغض إليه وأبعد منه - علمنا أن فيه من موالاة الرب بحسب ذلك.

فتمصَّكٌ بهذا [مه/1] الأصل غاية التمسّك فى نفسك وفى غيرك. فالولاية عبارة عن موافقة الولى الحميد فى محابّه ومساخطه؛ ليست بكثرة صوم ولا صلاة ولا تمزّق ولا رياضة.
