وقد تقدم أن العبد لا يترك ما يحبّه ويهواه يحبه ويهواه 0؛ لكن يترك أضعفّهما محبةً لأقواهما محبةً؛ كما أنه يفعل ما يكرهه لحصول م محبته أقوى عنده من كراهة م يفعله أو لخلاصه من مكروه كراهئه عنده أقوى من كراهة ما يفعله.

ولا يتمّ له هذا إلا بأمرين: قوة الإدراك» وشجاعة القلب. فإنّ التخلّف عن ذلك والعمل بخلافه يكون إما لضعف الإدراك بحيث إنّه لم يدرك مراتب المحبوب والمكروه على ما هى 0 عليه 6 وإِمَا لضحعحف في النفس وعجز في القلب لا يطاوعه لإيثار الأصلح له؛ مع علمه بأنه الأصلح. فإذا صحّ إدراكه؛ وقويت نفس وتشجّ م القلب على إيثار المحبوب الأعلى والمكروه الأدنى؛ فقد وُفق لأسباب السعادة. فمن الناس من يكون سلطان شهوته أقوى من سلطان عقله وإيمانه؛ فيقهر الغالبتٌ الضعيف؟؟. ومنهم من يكون سلطان إيمانه وعقله أقوى؟ من سلطان شهوته.
