وهذا تأويل سفيان بن عيينة في قوله تعالى: # ومن ذَآبَ في الْأرض ولا طهر بطي َتَاحَبّدِ إله 2 اتثالم » [الأنعام/ 38] قال: منهم من يكون على أخلاق السباع العادية» ومنهم من يكون على أخلاق الكلاب وأخلاق الخنزير وأخلاق الحمار» ومنهم من يتطوّس في ثيابه كما يتطوؤس الطاووس في ريشه؛ ومنهم من يكون بليدًا كالحمار» ومنهم من يؤثر على نفسه كالديك» ومنهم من يألف ويُؤلف كالحمام» ومنهم الحقود كالجمل» ومنهم الذي هو خير كله كالغنم» ومنهم أشباه الذئاب؛ ومنهم أشباه الثعالب التي تروغ كروغانها.
