وكما أن الشاة التي لا حافظ لها وهي بين الذئاب سريعةٌ العطب؛ فكذا العبد إذا لم يكن عليه حافظ من الله » فذئيُه مفترسه؛ ولابد. وإنما يكون عليه حافظ من الله بالتقوى» فهي وقاية وجُنّة حصينة بينه وبين ذئبه» كما هي وقاية بينه وبين عقوبة الدنيا والآخرة. وكلّما كانت الشاة أقرب من الراعي كانت أسلم من الذئب»ء وكلّما بعدت عن الراعي كانت أقرب إلى الهلاك. [8م»/1] فأحمى ما تكون الشاة إذا قربت من الراعي» وإنما يأخذ الذئب القاصي من الغنم» وهي أبعدهن من الراعي ب
