وأما وهنها للبدن» فإنَ المؤمن قوته من قلبه» وكلّما قوي قلبه قوي بدنه. وأما الفاجر. فإنّه وإن كان قويٍّ البدن» فهو أضعف شيء عند الحاجة» فتخونه قوته أحوج ما يكون إلى نفسه. وتأَكَلْ قوة أبدان فارس والروم» كيف خانتهم أحوج ما كانوا إليها؛ وقهرهم أهل الإيمان بقوة أبدانهم وقلوبهم؟

ومنها: حرمان الطاعة. فلو لم يكن للذنب عقوبة إلا أنه يصدّ عن طاعة تكون بِدَلَّه؛ ويقطع طريق طاعة أخرى»؛ فينقطع عليه طريقٌ ثالثق؛ ثم رابعةٍ؛ وهلمّ جرًا. فينقطع عليه بالذنب طاعات كثيرة» كلّ واحدة منها خير له من الدنيا وما عليها. وهذا كرجل أكل أكلة أُوجَبَتْ له مرضةٌ [20/ب] طويلةً منعته من عدة أكلات أطيب منهاء فالله المستعان.
