ومنها: ظلمة يجدها في قلبه حقيقة»؛ يحنّ بها كما يحس بظلمة الليل البهيم إذا ادلهمٌ» فتصير ظلمةٌ المعصية لقلبه كالظلمة الحسّية لبصره. فإنّ الطاعة نور» والمعصية ظلمة» وكلما قويت الظلمة ازدادت حيرته» حتّى يقع في البدع والضلالات والأمور المهلكة؛ وهو لا يشعر» كأعمى خرج في ظلمة الليل يمشي وحده. وتقوى هذه الظلمة حتى تظهر في العين» ثم تقوى حتى تعلو الوجه وتصير سوادًا فيه يراه كلّ أحد.
