وهذا على بن أبى طالب رضي الله عنه وبكاؤه وخوفه. وكان يشتد خوفه من اثنتين: طول الأمل» واتباع الهوى. قال: فأما طول الأمل فينّسي الآخرة» وأما اتباع الهوى فيصدٌّ عن الحق. ألا وإن الدنيا قد ولت مدبرةً» والآخرة مقبلة. ولكل واحدة منهما بنون» فكونوا من أبناء الآخرة ولا تكونوا من أبناء الدنياء فإنٌ اليوم عمل ولا حساب» وغذا حساب ولا عمزّ؟.
