والولاية أصلها الحبّ» فلا موالاة إلا بحبٌ؛ كما أن العداوة أصلها البغض. واللَّهُ ولي الذين آمنواء وهم أولياؤه؛ فهم يوالونه بمحبتهم له؛ وهو يواليهم بمحبته لهم. فالله يوالي عبدّه بحسب محبته له.

ولهذا أنكر سبحانه على من اتخذ من دونه أولياءً» بخلاف من والى أولياءه» فإنّه لم يتخذهم من دونه؛ بل موالاته لهم من تمام موالاته.

وقد أنكر على من سوى بينه وبين غيره في المحبة» وأخبر أن من فعل ذلك فقد اتخذ من دونه أندادًا يحبّهم كحبٌ الله؛ والذين آمنوا أشدّ حبًا لله. وأخبر عمّن سوّى بينه وبين الأنداد في الحبّ أنّهم يقولون في النار لمعبوديهم: # تَالَّهِ إن كُنّا تنى سَكلٍ ثُِينٍ © إذ شوك بت الْعلَمِينَ 662 [الشعراء/ 417 -48].

وبهذا التوحيد في الحبّ أرسل الله سبحانه جميع رسله؛ وأنزل جميع كتبه؛ وأطبقت عليه دعوة الرسل من أولهم إلى آخرهم» ولأجله خلق السماوات والأرض والجنة والنار». فجعل الجنة لأهله» والنار للمشركين به فيه.
