وذكر الخرائطى أن عبدالله بن عمر اشترى جارية رومية»؛ فكان يحبّها حبًّا شديدًا فوقعت ذات يوم عن بغلة له؛ فجعل يمسح التراب عن وجههاء ويفدّيها. وكانت تكثر أن تقول له: يا بُطرون؛ أنت قالون. تعني: يا مولاي أنت جيّد. ثم إنها هربت منه؛ فوجد عليها وجدّا شديدًا وقال:
