قال: «ويروى أن رجلا علق شخصًاء فاشتدّ كلفه به وتمكن حبّه من قلبه 6 حتى وقع لما!ا: 6 ولزم الفراش بسببة. وتمنع ذلك الشخص عليه؛ واشتدٌ نفاره عنه. فلم تزل الوسائط يمشون بينهماء حتى وعده أن يعوده. فأخبر بذلك البائن ففرح واشتدٌ سروره» وانجلى غمّه؛ وجعل ينتظره للميعاد الذي ضربه له. فبينا هو كذلك؛ إذ جاءه الساعي بينهماء فقال: إنّه وصل معي إلى بعض الطريق» ورجع» فرغبت إليه. وكلمته» فقال: إنّه ذكرني» وبرّح بي» ولا أدخل مداخل الريب؛ ولا أعرّرض نفسي لمواقع التهم: فعاودته 6 فأبى وانصرف. فلمًال؟ سمع البائمن [1/84] أسْقط فى يده» وعاد إلى أشدّ مما كان به وبدت عليه علائم الموت. فجعل يقول في تلك الحال:
