ولا ريب أن العقوبات التي أنزلها الله في الأرض بقيت آثارها سارية في الأرض تطلب ما يشاكلها من الذنوب التي هي آثار تلك الجرائم التي عُذِبتْ بها الأمم. فهذه الآثار في الأرض من آثار تلك العقوبات؛ كما أنّ هذه المعاصي من آثار تلك الجرائم. فتناسبت حكمة الله وحكمه الكوني أولأً وآخرّاء وكان العظيم من العقوبة للعظيم من الجناية؛ والأخف للأخف. وهكذا يحكم سبحانه بين خلقه في دار البرزخ ودار الجزاء.
