وفى مناقب عمر لابن أبى الدنيا أن الأرض (لزلت على عهد عمرء فضرب يده عليهاء وقال: مالكِ؟ مالكٍ؟ أمَا إنّها لو كانت القيامة حدّثت أخبارها. سمعتثُ رسول الله كَليةٍ يقول: «إذا كان يوم القيامة فليس فيها ذراع ولا شبر إلا وهو ينطق».

وكتب عمر بن عبدالعزيز إلى الأمصار: أمّا بعد» فإنَّ هذا الرجف؟ شىء يعاتب الله عز وجل به العباد. وقد كتبثُ إلى الأمصار أن يخرجوا؟ في يوم كذا وكذاء في شهر كذا وكذاء؛ فمن كان عنده شيء َلتَصِدَق به» فإن الله عز وجل يقول: # قد فلح من ترق لبا وذكر اسم َي َل 02 6[الأعلى/ ٠4 -19] وقولوا كما قال آدم: # رين كنا أَنشفْسكا ون لَه تعفر كن ورحَمْنا تون بن الْخيِرِينَ 602 [الأعراف/ 73] وقولوا كما قال نوح: «وَإلَاتَنْيِرٌ لي وَتَرْحَنَقَْ كن بن الْحَيِرِينَ » [هود/ 47] وقولوا كما قال يونس: لا إلَه إلا أنت مُبحتَكَ إن كب بن المي » [الأنياء/ لام].
