وذكر ابن أبي الدنياأ عن إبراهيم بن عمرو الصنعاني قال: أوحى الله إلى يوشع بن نون: إنّي مهلك من قومك أربعين ألقًا من خيارهم وستين ألقًا من شرارهم. قال: يا رب هؤلاء الأشرار» فما بال الأخيار؟ قال: إنّهم لم يغضبوا لغضبي» وكانوا يؤاكلونهم ويشاربونهم. ٍّ وذكر أبو عمر بن عبدالبر عن أبي هران قال: بعث الله عز وجل ملكين إلى قرية أنْ: دمّراها بمن فيها. فوجدا فيها رجلا قائمًا يصلي في مسجر؟ » فقالا: يا رب إن فيها عبدّك فلانًا يصلى. فقال الله عز وجل: دمراها ودمّراه معها 5 6 فإنه م تمغر وجهه في قط.

وذكر الحميدي عن سفيان بن عيينة قال: حدثني سفيان بن سعيد »؛ عن مسعر أنَّ ملكا أمِرّ أن يخسفٌ قريةً؛ فقال: يا رب إِنَّ فيها فلانًً العابد. فأوحى الله عرّ وجل إليه أَنْ: به فابدا» فإنّه لم يتمعّر وجهه فيّ ساعةً قط.
