ثم حملها في هودج ٠» وجهّزها بثلاثين راحلة من المتاع والتخف» فودّعناه وسرناء حتى إذا بقى بيننا وبين المدينة مرحلة واحدة خرجت علينا خيل تريد الغارة؛ أحسبها من سليم فحمل عليها عتبة بن الحباب» فقتل منهم رجالا وجدّل آخرين: ثم رجع وبه طعنة تفور دمّاء» فسقط إلى الأرض.1163/ب] وأتتنا نجدة؟ ٠» فطردت عنًّا الخيل. وقد قضى عتبة نحبه» فقلنا: وا عتبتاه فسمعتنا الجارية» فألقت نفسها عن البعير 6 وجعلت تصيح بحرقة وأنشدت: تصبّرَتُ لا أتى صبرت وإنما أعلل نفسى أنها بك لاحقّه
