الخامس: الفكرة في واجب الوقت ووظيفته؛ وجمع الهم كله عليه. فالعارف ابن وقته» فإن أضاعه ضاعت عليه مصالحه كلها. فجميع المصالح إنما تنشأ من الوقت» وإن ضيّعه لم يستدركه أبدًا.

فوقت الإنسان هوا عمره فى الحقيقة» وهو مادة حياته الأبدية فى النعيم المقيم» ومادة معيشته الضّتُّك في العذاب الأليم» وهو يمرّ أسرع من مرّ السحاب. فما كان من وقته لله وبالله» فهو حياته وعمره. وغير ذلك ليس محسوبًا من حياته» وإن عاش فيه عيش البهائم. فإذا قطع وقته في الغفلة والسهو والأماني الباطلة» وكان خير ما قطعه به النوم والبطالة فموت هذا خير له من حياته. وإذا كان العبد؛ وهو فى الصلاة» ليس لهل إلا ما عقل منهاء فليس له من عمره إلا ما كان فيه بالله وله(.
