قال مجاهد: إذا ولى الظالم سعى بالظلم والفساد ُ فيحبس اللَّهُ بذلك القّطَرّ» فيهلك الحرث والنسلء والله لا يحب الفساد. ثم قرأ: ظهر آلْفَسَادُ في الْبٌوَالبَحْرٍ بِمَا كَسَبَتْ أَرى آلنَّاسس 6 الآية؛ ثم قال: أما والله ما هو بحركم هذاء ولكن كل قرية على ماءٍ جار فهو بحر.

قلت: وقد سمّى الله تعالى الماء العذب بحرّاء فقال: + وهو الى مرج البحرينِ هذا عذب فرات وذا لم ا [الفرقان/ 57]. وليس في العالم بحر حلو واقف»؛ وإنّما هي الأنهار الجارية؛ والبحر المالح هو الساكن» فسمّى القرى التي على المياه الجارية باسم تلك المياه.
