وذكر ابن أبي الدنيا من حديث ابن عمر قال: لقد رأيتنَا وما أحدٌ أحقّ بديناره ودرهمه من أخيه المسلم. ولقد سمعثُ رسول الله 3 يقول: «إذا ضنّ الناس بالدينار والدرهم» وتبايعوا بالعينة؛ وتركوا الجهاد» وأخذوا أذناب البقر - أنزل الله عليهم من السماء بلاءً»؛ فلا يرفعه عنهم حتى يراجعوا دينهم».
