وفي مراسيل الحسن: «إذا أظهر الناس العلم» وضيّعوا العمل؛ وتحابّوا بالألسن» وتباغضوا بالقلوب» وتقاطعوا بالأرحام - لعنهم الله عز وجل عند ذلك» فأصمّهم» وأعمى أبصارهم».

وفي سنن ابن ماجه من حديث عبدالله بن عمر بن الخطاب قال: كنت عاشرّ عشرة رهط من المهاجرين عند رسول الله كي فأقبل علينا رسول الله كَةٍ بوجهه؛ فقال: «يا معشر المهاجرين» خمنٌ خصال وأعوذ بالله أن تدركوهنّ: ماظهرت الفاحشة في قوم حتى أعلنوا بها إلا ابْمُلُوا بالطواعين والأوجاع التي لم تكن في أسلافهم الذين مضوا. ولا نقص قوءٌ المكيال والميزان إلا ابتلُوا بالسنين وشدة المؤنة وجور السلطان. وما منع قوم زكاة أموالهم إلا مُْعوا القَطْرَ من السماء» فلولا البهائم لم يُمطّروا. ولا خفر قوم العهد إلا سلط الله عليهم عدهم من غيرهم» فأخذوا بعض ما في أيديهم. وما لم تعمل أتمّتهم بما أنزل الله في كتابه إلا جعل الله بأسّهم بينهم».
