The Cure’s summary

Ibn al-Qayyim names as the most deluded of people the one deceived by this world and its immediate pleasures, who prefers it to the hereafter (A079-2). He describes the reasoning of those who will not give up something present for something absent and deferred, and traces it to weak faith and the pull of desire (A245-6), setting against them those who sold the passing for the lasting (A246-2). He argues that whoever turns away from Allah has a straitened life in proportion to his turning away, however much comfort he enjoys (A279-1), while the greatest pleasure of this world is knowing Allah and loving Him (A543-2).
