الحسد
Envy
Envy is not a theme this book develops; it appears only in passing, in three places. Ibn al-Qayyim lists it among the ills from which the sound heart is free — together with shirk, rancour, malice, avarice, arrogance, and love of the world and of leadership (A282-5); he counts it among the sins by which a person comes to resemble the devil (A288-2); and he mentions the envy of the Prophet's enemies (A557-2).
A minor theme in this book. Ad-Dāʾ wa-d-Dawāʾ touches on envy in only 3 passages. What follows is everything The Cure found; it is not a full treatment of the subject.
